Eric Olson is a Certified Physician Assistant specializing in cardiology and internal medicine. He received his masters degree in physician assistant (PA) studies from AT Still University in 1999 following his pre-med degree in Zoology from ASU in 1994. In addition to his work at Summit Heart Lung and Vascular, Eric also serves as a medical officer in the Arizona Army National Guard.
In high school Eric was an avid athlete which led him to healthcare. He chose to become a PA rather than a physician so he could spend more time with his family. He finds that being a PA allows him to spend more time with patients working on their plan of care. Eric chose cardiology as his specialty after working at the Mayo Clinic monitoring stress tests and EKGs between his undergrad and graduate studies.
Eric listens to his patients and involves them and their families in their plan of care. He enjoys hearing his patients stories and as a military veteran himself, he especially enjoys working with other veterans. When not practicing medicine, Eric enjoys spending time with his family, trail running, mountain biking and discussing military and foreign policy.
