Simranjit Galhotra is board-certified in Pulmonary Disease and Sleep Medicine. He received his medical degree and his MBA from the University of Chicago. He completed his three-year Internal Medicine Residency at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, and his three-year Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at George Washington University in Washington, DC.
When in the second grade he knew he wanted to become a physician. During medical school his most influential teacher was a pulmonologist and when doing pulmonary and critical care medicine rotations during his internal medicine residency, he found the two specialties to be the most intriguing. During his fellowship training he added sleep medicine to his special interests.
Dr. Galhotra’s patients find him approachable and easy to talk to. He listens to their concerns and explains their health issues in terms his patients understand. His practice philosophy is he wants his patients to improve their quality of life in a friendly atmosphere.
Dr. Galhotra wants to help people who suffer with asthma, COPD, and sleep apnea syndromes. He is the Medical Director of Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
